“I’ll see you when I get home babe, it’s only 28 more hours, I’m counting down the seconds until I see you smiling, I miss you so much and I love you.” Rang through the answering machine, Louis had rang whilst I was asleep, he was so close to coming home I was over the moon, his world tour was so successful and I’m so proud of him. The hours rolled around slowly, every inch of my mind attempting not to stare at the clock. I lay out red rose petals exactly how he did on the first date we had, I set the table with the same cutlery, the same bottle of wine sitting in the middle, the label facing Louis’ side of the table, prompting his memory when he saw it. I ran upstairs, clutching the same dress I wore that night, looking down at the silver band on my left hand, I smiled as I ran a finger over the diamond which sat on top. Louis had proposed a year ago today, the same date of our first date three years ago.

I jumped in the shower; the smell of my strawberry bath wash soaking the walls, tingling my nose, the smell has so many memories attached to it, one being its Louis’ favourite bath wash of mine.I stepped out of the shower, quickly applied a small amount of make up to my face then I slipped my dress over my head, securing the bow around my waist tightly.

I lit the four candles lined down the table, looking at the clock to notice it says 7:26pm, exactly one hour after he was supposed to arrive home. Figuring he was just a little late I sat on the couch as I felt my eyes getting heavy and the bottle of wine to my left now almost empty. The clock on the wall read 10:47pm nearly four hours, no phone call, no text message. Walking into the kitchen to pick up the phone to dial his number, a set of headlights flashed into the driveway, my eyes widened, a smile plastered on my face as I ran out the front door except I wasn’t greeted by what I was expecting.

The four of them walked slowly towards me, their heads down, a small whimper escaping the dark haired boy on the end, knowing it was Zayn and he never cried, this must have been bad. I looked down the line and I knew who was missing, I knew he was gone. I stood, frozen not caring about the fact I had left my front door open and I was standing in the middle of my path.

“No…” I whispered, Harry looked up, his eyes blood shot and teary.”No… No, no, NO, NO!” I began to scream, tears falling down my face, my legs collapsing underneath me, but I didn’t hit the ground, Harry’s strong arms around me comforted me. I screamed into his shoulder, large wails escaping my mouth, standing in my front yard completely broken, he was gone.

“How…” I spat into his shoulder. “How what?” Harry replied, ever so confused. “How did it happen?! Why!” I yelled as I pushed him back, standing blankly looking at a boy who loved me as much as I loved him, my fiancé’s best friend, looking exactly like me, completely shattered, his world, gone.

“We don’t know, he insisted on driving on his own to get home to you, we were about twenty minutes behind him as we drove the traffic slowed and his car was just…” He choked on a tear, I ran towards him, throwing my arms around him and letting even more out. We fell to the ground, silently crying.

“This wasn’t supposed to happen Harry, not today.” The last thing I spoke before everything went dark, the pressure of Harry’s arms the last thing I felt.

I need to stop reading these for my fucking sanity
